Jesus is King
This post focuses on who Jesus is and why he’s important. A disclaimer we would like to mention is that at JTW we deliver the truth, and that is the message of Jesus Christ (John 3:16). There is no debating what is factual, and therefore because the Word of God is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12), we know that it is in love, and the truth of the life of Jesus Christ, that we can bring you this good news: Jesus is alive, he’s coming back, and he wants a relationship with you now! Jesus saves. Jesus loves you.
Jesus’s Eternal Existence
Jesus was with God before the world was created (Genesis 1:1-3 and John 1:1-3).
Jesus is supreme (Colossians 1:15-19).
Jesus is God (John 8:58, Romans 1:8, Romans 22:12-13).
Jesus shares the Father’s glory (John 17:4-5).
Jesus’ Divinity
Jesus and God, the Father are one (John 10:30).
Jesus and God, the Father share divine qualities (Hebrews 1:2-3).
Jesus is superior to angels (Hebrews 1:4-6).
Jesus shares divine qualities with God, the Father (Hebrews 1:8-12).
Jesus’s Humanity
Jesus took the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness, he humbled himself and became obedient to death (Philippians 2:7-8)
Like us, Jesus experienced human emotions and limitations:
Fatigue (John 4:6)
Thirst (John 4:7)
Anger (John 2:14-17)
Limited knowledge while on earth (Matthew 24:36)
Temptation (Luke 4:2)
Sadness (John 11:35)
A fully human body (John 1:14)
The importance of Jesus’ identity
Nothing is hidden from God and one day, we must give account (Hebrews 4:13-14)
Knowing and understanding that Jesus was fully human helps us (Hebrews 4:15-16)
Our belief in Jesus determines our salvation from sin (John 8:24)
